JOB PURPOSE

The Aid for Trade Initiative for Arab States (AfTIAS 2.0) Program is a regional trade development initiative designed to enhance trade competitiveness and economic integration among Arab countries. Led by the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, AfTIAS 2.0 builds on the achievements of the first phase (AfTIAS 1.0) and aims to support Arab States in overcoming trade-related challenges.

In this context, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), as a host to AfTIAS 2.0 Project Coordination and Management Unit (PCMU), is looking for hiring an experienced and self-motivated Program Officer at AfTIAS 2.0 PCMU. The desired Program Officer for AfTIAS 2.0 initiative would be instrumental in insuring efficient program management at both project management, administrative and governance levels. The selected candidate would be providing high level project management and administrative support working closely with internal and external partners and stakeholders towards successful implementation of approved projects and fulfilling program governance requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of the AfTIAS 2.0 Program management team, provide technical assistance, quality project management and administrative support to the AfTIAS 2.0 Program.

  • Follow up on the progress of implementation of AfTIAS 2.0 Projects in cooperation with the Program Coordinator.

  • Support the content preparations and organization of AfTIAS 2.0 Program governance meetings and documents.

  • Provide AfTIAS 2.0 Trust Fund Manager with required data to fulfill his duties in coordination with ITFC Finance Department.

  • Prepare necessary reports and provide executive summaries and analysis of studies and reports.

  • Draft responses on the queries and correspondence from internal and external partners, as directed by the Line Manager.

  • Provide the required assistance to the AfTIAS Program Management in research and studies needed and requested.

  • Support AfTIAS 2.0 Program and project M&E activities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders.

  • Assist in preparation of the Monthly/ Quarterly/yearly calendar for AfTIAS activities.

  • Provide necessary support to ITFC Corporate Communications in covering the AfTIAS 2.0. Program and activities.

  • Carry on any task assigned by the Line Manager/Division Manager/General Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, economics, or another relevant field.

Professional Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in project management and / or administrative support, preferably in a development organization or development context.

  • High level computer proficiency particularly in using MS Office. Experience in using project management software would be an advantage.

  • Some knowledge of international trade and technical cooperation programs and context particularly in the Arab Region would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrated soft and interpersonal skills along with ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision with ethics, efficiency, competence, and integrity and in harmony with people of different backgrounds.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English is compulsory.

  • French is preferable.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience
