Job Purpose:

To implement IsDB solution platforms and databases on-premise and on the cloud according to the internal database standards and procedures, and operate them in line with the agreed SLAs and KPIs from provisioning to administering, operating, monitoring, and supporting to meet the requirements of internal and external business stakeholders, ensure availability and performance, support business operations in IsDB HQ and in Regional Hubs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement, by himself performing a smooth handover between development and operations, or through a third party, the overall solution landscape for solution platforms and databases as well as the changes, including provisioning, administering, operating, monitoring and supporting, to ensure availability within the agreed time table, adherence to processes, and performance expectations of business stakeholders described in the SLAs.

  • Ensure appropriate tools, processes, and procedures are developed, maintained, and implemented to achieve performance targets, service levels, and operational continuity.

  • Support the selection of solution vendors to ensure appropriate third parties will implement the solution’s technical architecture and operations.

  • Supervise the technical integration of solution components according to the solution architecture agreed on with the Solution Architects and the Enterprise Architect to ensure secure and reliable exchange of data between solutions.

  • Ensure the development and maintenance of appropriate security roles and profiles for each solution and coordinate with the Infrastructure and Security operations User Access Management team to provide technical support for user access issues related to solutions.

  • Develop and manage the Quality Assurance plans related to the solution platforms and databases to ensure adherence to standards and best practices.

  • Analyze IsDB solution platforms and databases performance and recommend solutions to enhance and tune performance to meet SLAs and KPIs.

  • Coordinate with Technology Risk and Assurance, Solution Delivery and Technology Operations teams on the disaster recovery operations for solution platforms and databases to ensure that IsDB is able to maintain business operations that depend on critical solutions in case of a major incident.

  • Develop backup and recovery strategies aligned with IT policies and procedures and ensure compliance for operations and testing of backups for solution platform and databases in order to protect IsDB data and provide assurance of recoverability from major incidents.

  • Ensure the monitoring and troubleshooting of the IsDB solution platforms and databases to apply the resolution of issues within agreed upon SLAs.

  • Coordinate with the IT Security, Technology Risk and Assurance, IT Audit and Risk Management on any matter related to IT Security for solution and database platforms to ensure alignment of the framework in place, operationalization, risk mitigation place are in accordance to IsDB’s need.

  • Coordinate with the Technology Risk and Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure resilience using high availability architectures and disaster recovery solutions are provided for solution platforms and databases.

  • Update and maintain the recommended procedures, work methods and standards for solution operations such as back-up, security, monitoring, patching, program release and control, and for how modifications to solutions and databases are deployed in order to ensure availability and performance of solution platforms and databases.

  • Communicate to senior management, business stakeholders and department management through presentations and reports on plans, performance, SLAs, KPIs and incidents related to solution platform and database operations.

Academic and professional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or similar field.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing solution platforms and databases.

Skills & Necessary Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in end-to-end solution platform and databases management and operations

  • Strong knowledge and experience in IT Service Management including incident, problem, configuration and availability management

  • Knowledge and experience in enterprise-level solution integration

  • Strong knowledge and experience in security, roles and profiles for solutions

  • Experience in implementing security controls according to industry standards for solution platforms and databases

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing high availability, backup and recovery and disaster recovery for solution platforms and databases

  • Experience in managing and coordinating with third-party solution and service providers
