Role Purpose:

Support in the formulation of the corporate strategy, annual business/operation plan, departmental business plans and improvement of the ICD’s strategy/business plan implementation by providing strategic foresights and analysis.

Key Functional Accountabilities and Activities:

ICD Strategy Development & Monitoring:

  • Support in developing ICD’s Corporate Strategy, in coordination with the Senior Management and in alignment with the broader IsDB Group strategy

  • Assist in cascading of ICD’s strategy into departmental, sector and country-specific strategies in consistent and coherent manner.

  • Coordinate the development and the implementation of the departmental business plans (detailed action plans) to support the execution of ICD strategic vision and direction.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive operational and financial models for the ICD’s strategic and business plan projections.

  • Prepare detailed analysis including comprehensive financial models and other studies/tools for preparation/updating of ICD strategy, business plan, operational plan and other corporate documents.

  • Coordinate the communication of ICD’s strategy both internally and externally and ensure alignment of all operations with the strategy.

  • Coordinate the implementation of the Corporate Strategy at both ICD and departmental level and draft report of potential gaps with concrete recommendations.

  • Ensure that all functions have integrated the Corporate Strategy within their function Strategies and Plans (detailed action plans).

  • Assess early indicators of external trends in change drivers that may result in a set of opportunities and threats for the organization.

Strategy Execution and Foresight:

  • Coordinate the transformation journey of the Corporation, and prepare regular reports to ensure successful delivery of the ICD transformation initiatives.

  • Provide assistance in the development of the digital mechanisms to initiate and improve the two-way strategic communication avenues with the internal and external customers of Corporate Strategy & Research Division.

  •  Plan, coordinate and schedule change management workshops to build on the momentum of the new processes.

  • Act as a change agent and advocate the key achievements to galvanize the support and enhance the buy-in.

  • Review and propose changes to the governance and control frameworks (organizational chart and manual, delegation of authority matrix, Corporate KPIs, policy management framework) to ensure that the ICD is well structured to deliver its long-term goals.

  • Conduct studies and propose new initiatives that will contribute towards the business efficiency of the ICD and lead to continuous improvement and enhancement of the Corporation.

  • Provide strategic foresight analysis that identifies future opportunities and challenges to make better decisions and act strategically by the management and business functions.

Qualifications/ Professional Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in corporate strategy preferably in consulting or another fast-paced, knowledge-based work environment in financial institutions.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Economics / Business Administration or similar discipline is a must.

  • Master's degree/MBA in a related field or a relevant professional certification is a must.

  • Strong writing and presentation skills and analytical capabilities, ability to work on financial modelling, use statistical tools in project appraisal, cost‐benefit analysis, market and sector studies and demand projections.

  • Experience in other MDBs’ or regional or global development institutions is an added advantage.
