Job Purpose:

To oversee the financial modeling and quantitative analytical function to enable assessing the risk profile of the bank and recommend strategic decisions on funding and investment activities and maintain its highest credit ratings. The job entails analyzing key risks pertaining to liquidity, profit rate, currency, and other ALM and market risks inherent in the financing, investing, funding, and hedging operations of the bank. It also entails the development of quantitative methodologies and models to support the formulation of financial and investment policies, product development, compliance, and monitoring.

Key Accountabilities:

Financial and Risk Analytics: 

  •  Develop and maintain models to support financial projections, financial sustainability, ALM, Bank’s ratings, etc.
  •  Oversee stress tests and scenario analyses on liquidity, funding, and capital adequacy to assess risks inherent in the balance sheet and recommend decisions on the bank's funding and investment activities.
  •  Quantify the potential exposures to market and liquidity risks due to both existing and proposed borrowings and report thereof.
  • Provide analytical support to propose risk-return objectives, risk tolerance, investment horizon, Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA), liquidity requirements, and investment constraints for the Bank and funds under its management.
  • Provide analytical support to assess the Bank’s credit profile based on the methodologies of the rating agencies in order to take proactive measures to maintain the Bank’s highest ratings.
  • Participate in implementing an enterprise risk management solution in the Bank that provides FPPA and Finance Complex with the tools to undertake their first layer of defense responsibilities for managing the financial risks of the Bank.
  • Oversee identification and measurement of key risks and emerging risks on profit-rate, currency, and other market risks inherent in the financing, investing, funding, and hedging operations of the bank. To develop systems for monitoring to assist the Compliance and Monitoring unit to undertake continuous monitoring.
  • Oversee preparation of analytic reports on a periodic basis on liquidity management and on performance assessment and attribution analysis for in-house managed investment portfolios.
  • Develop and implement methodologies to assess and measure IsDB's market risks associated with financing, investment, funding, and derivatives operations.
  • Oversee the financial analytical research to identify the key income drivers and cost allocations to formulate optimal business model of the Bank.
  • Develop and maintain analytical models and tools to generate reports required for the ALCO pack to facilitate analysis of the balance sheet risks and measures to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with the Compliance and Monitoring unit, for undertaking a detailed review and assessment of the market and liquidity risk profiles including credit/counterpart quality of the liquid fund’s portfolio, duration mismatch between assets and liabilities, currency mismatch, gap analysis, stress testing, sensitivity, etc.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Policies function and Investment unit in developing investment policy statements for each of the investment funds.
  • Oversee provision of all quantitative analytic support and modeling for the Policies unit and any other units in the Finance Complex.

Operational Excellence:

  • Provide technical guidance to the lesser experienced team members and review their work.
  • Monitor effective implementation and adherence to the respective financial management policies, procedures, and controls so that all relevant procedural requirements are fulfilled.
  • Keep abreast with the latest developments, regulations, and leading practices in the field and proposes any necessary actions.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance of the related operations.

Education, Certification & Experience:

Academic qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Econometrics, Financial Management, or a related field. Certification in FRM, PRM or CFA would be preferred.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in financial management, financial modeling, risk management, and related fields. Investment banking and pricing policies experiences are preferred.
