Job Purpose::

To provide high level technical support and expertise to enable the President in quick and correct decision-making on important issues related to the assigned domains of Economic and Social Infrastructure, Resilience and Social Development, Country Strategy & Cooperation, Economic Research & Institutional Learning, Multi-Donor Trust Funds and Partnership Development and facilitate correspondence, communication, coordination and follow-up with the relevant Units in the Bank and external stakeholders like Donors and Partners to achieve the missions and goals of IsDB.

Key Accountabilities::

Strategy and Operational Planning:

  • Participate in the development, effective implementation and monitoring of the Annual Work Plans and KPIs for the Middle Office and the Executive Office of the President.
  • Ensure that Middle Office works effectively and proactively, both within IsDB Group and externally, to ensure the delivery of required services.
  • Participate in formulating, developing and implementing policies, procedures and guidelines for the Executive Office of the President.
  • Participate in the preparation of the annual resource plans and budget for the Executive Office of the President.
  • Participate and contribute to the preparation, review and effective implementation of the Annual internal and external engagement plans to
    raise the standing of IsDB in the public, private in third sector domains.

Technical Advisory & Executive Support:

  • Provide professional and technical advice to the President on matters related to the role’s assigned domain or any other matter as assigned by the President.
  • Provide technical advisory support to the President on matters, related to the role’s assigned domain, referred to him for guidance and consideration by the Management Committees and/or Boards of Directors/Governors.
  • Review the President’s briefing materials, correspondence, documents and all incoming communication to improve quality and thoroughness, and ensuring that President is adequately briefed and apprised of important issues as they arise, as preparation for the President's engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Offer technical and professional advice and recommendations to the President on improving business efficiency, effectiveness, responsiveness, and quality in the assigned Domains.
  • Give advice on areas where the Bank’s policies, procedures, processes, and guidelines need to be reviewed and improved, in line with the lessons learnt as well as global best practices at other MDBs, and considering the priorities set in the President’s 5-Year Program and the Bank’s 10-Year Strategy.
  • Undertake analysis on development issues that involve wider policy implication and provide the requisite opinion and technical point of view.
  • Communicate the directives of the President to concerned departments /entities, in a timely and effective manner, through appropriate channels like memos, correspondences etc.
  • Undertake technical review of all correspondence and mail, that require President’s attention, decide on the priorities to be given and forward the mail to the concerned units.
  • Follow-up on actions and instructions required by the concerned units and Advisors in addressing issues requested by the President and report on progress.
  • Accompany the President in his internal and external engagements, as necessary, in the assigned area of responsibilities.

Knowledge Sharing & Innovation:

  • Suggest innovative ideas to improve efficiency of work in the Middle Office.
  • Contribute to the review and enhancements of policies, objectives and programs through benchmarking with the world / industry best practices.
  • Identify, suggest and contribute to innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities and champion initiatives to enhance the performance of the Middle Office team and to enable it to deliver and contribute in an innovative manner.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Provide the President with the periodic or ad-hoc reports on the development issues in the assigned areas.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to plan/resolve issues related to Executive Office of the President.

 

Education, Certification & Experience::

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Finance, International Development or related field.
  • 10 to 13 years of prior relevant experience in the similar role in a Multilateral Development Bank or similar international
    organizations, of which 5-7 years in the managerial/supervisory role.
