JOB PURPOSE:

The IT Enterprise Architect leads EA office and practices to ensure that IsDB architecture is defined, documented, delivered and adhered to, specifically across the infrastructure, application, information management and digital innovation in alignment with the business. The Enterprise Architect provides management and direction related to strategic planning, transformational program/projects, and business-as-usual execution for IMDT. The EA also manages the Solution Architect through the Solution Delivery manager in alignment of technical architecture reviews for delivery and implementation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set the direction and approach for the design, implantation, and integration of solutions and processes across the technology ecosystem, including systems and applications, infrastructure, security, information, and innovation initiatives.
  • Design and continuously improve the architecture-related artifacts for enterprise and its related reference models, infrastructure, application, information management, and digital innovation, in line with IT strategy, industry-leading frameworks, standards, legal and regulatory requirements, and common practices.
  • Manage the Enterprise Architecture Office, maintain the enterprise architecture catalog; and communicate and enforce the application of the overall Enterprise Architecture reference models, representations, services, and components.
  • Collect EA components related to Business Relationship, and ensure the archiving of the full suite of architecture artifacts (typically in a searchable knowledge archive).
  • Give feedback and advice to the business in the areas of technology trends and technology opportunities/constraints.
  • Coordinate with business relationship managers and solution delivery product leads to ensure consistent adherence and application of IMDT architectural framework, standards and principles.
  • Lead architectural reviews across programs/projects, providing subjectmatter expertise to ensure adherence with the IMDT enterprise architecture; particularly for complex development or transformational projects.
  • Manage the Infrastructure & Security Architect, Information Architect, and guide the Solution Architects, and ensure the effective achievement of functional objectives through leadership of the Team. Setting Team and individual objectives, conducting regular meetings, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback, and appraisal to maximize subordinates and team performance.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Academic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, IT or similar field with 8 years experience in IT environment OR
  • Masters degree in Computer Science, IT or similar field with 6 years experience in IT environment.

Experience:

  • Five years experience in IT architectures including applications, information, infrastructure and security architecture, development methodologies and implementation experience covering SOA, SDLC and Data Management.

Skills and Necessary Knowledge:

  • TOGAF 9 Certified Enterprise Architect 

  • Management experience and preferably with certification in project management such as PRINC2 or PMP  

  • Exposure to professional standardization bodies including IEEE, DAMA and NIST 

  • Modelling and need analysis techniques
