Job Role:

Develop written content for IsDB ensuring quality prose and consistency of messaging.

Key Accountabilities:

  •  Research and write well-written and up-to-date content for use across all IsDB communications channels and external outlets
  •  Responsible for writing talking points on behalf of IsDB leadership, key messages, fact sheets, media Q&As, opinion pieces, feature copy and speaking notes and copy for social media
  •  Ensure all communications output meets the highest-standards, and is consistently on-message
  •  Support the development of IsDB’s tone of voice, partnering with colleagues in the marketing and communications division
  •  Expertise in developing and reformatting content for use across multiple channels, for instance media, social media and digital, supporting fully-integrated marketing communications campaigns
  •  Keep up to date with latest news from Islamic Finance and global development, including announcements, opinion sharing and trends, in order to identify relevancy and opportunity for IsDB thought leadership

Job Requirements:

Academic qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communication or relevant field or similar experience in journalism required


• English (Mandatory)
• Arabic (Preferred)
• French (Preferred)

Minimum number of years and nature of experience
• 3 years in an editorial role for a major global organisation of business
• Good understanding of IsDB external and internal landscape
• Excellent writing skills and attention to detail
• Can demonstrate examples of high-quality editorial content
• Must be able to adapt content for range of audiences, from formal speeches to social media

• Maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders to source content and key information

• Awareness of key messages and how these can be effectively woven into copy
• Ability to meet deadlines and turnaround copy quickly
