Role Purpose
To significantly contribute towards the development of the overall strategy, operational policies and program Management framework of the ISFD aimed at improving the positioning, quality and effectiveness of a ISFD programs and operations, as well as the Fund's standing within the IDB group and the member countries.
Key Activities
Strategic & Operational Planning
-support the Director General, his office and the program management team in developing an implementation of the overall strategy of the ISFD and ensure its alignment with the IDB group strategy, as well as its harmonization with the poverty reduction strategy and other social sector strategies of the IDB.
-contribute to the Member Country Partnerships Strategies (MCPS) as undertaken by Country Department-led IDB Group teams of specialists.
-contribute to the programming of new and pipeline interventions based on internal discussions, as well as dialogue with relevant Sector Departments and relevant stakeholders.
-developed and regularly report on metrics for the management and monitoring the execution of the ISFD strategy focusing on sector and thematic areas of IDB 10 years strategy and president's 5 year plan.
-Participate in the strategic planning process, including strategy research & analysis, and drafting strategic narratives and presentations.
Policies, Processes and Procedures
-lead the development of operational policies for ISFD and ensure it compliance through regular policy audit.
- regular refinement and development of the Monitoring and Evaluation Framework
Program Management
-lead the development/design of innovative poverty reduction programs and projects that enhance the quality, have high impact on the poor in collaboration with the relevant factor department
-monitor and evaluate the on-going projects and programmes financed by ISFD in close collaboration and coordination with relevant sector departments.
-lead the implementation of result management system.
- Harness and report results on ISFD finances projects and programs.
Partnership & Networking
-Build close and cordial relationship with key counterpart in Group Members to ensure high impact of analytical work in coordination with the other relevant client facing unit of the IDB.
-engage in strategic networking with government, private sector Institutions, NGO's, philanthropic organisations and individuals.
Knowledge Sharing & Innovation
-ensure that all concerned staff have been provided the required knowledge and strategic orientation to enable them to function more tactically with other stakeholders.
-ensure that all relevant staff and IDB staff is well aware of a ISFD strategy and policies
-share relevant knowledge with colleagues in the Bank Groups through various innovative means, especially through key reports such as development effective review, quarterly performance, etc.
- participate in key communities of practice (COPs) within IDB, especially the ones on Development Effectiveness, Sustainable Development Goals, and Human Development
Reporting & Communication
-developed and present reports as required by Fund and Bank management
-communicate with relevant departments and complexes in the banks to ensure strategy alignment and policy compliance.
Job Requirements
Academic and Relevant Experience Requirements:
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business administration, Engineering, or any related field.
- 9 years of experience
Languages
- English: Required High Proficiency
- Arabic: Preferred
