SECTION I: JOB PURPOSE:

The Infrastructure & Security Architect defines and supervises the design and creation of the infrastructure architectures considering business needs and the IsDB technology ecosystem while focusing on technology standards, describing configuration paradigms, and identifying demand for reference architecture. In addition, the Infrastructure & Security Architect ensures that new or upgraded systems are aligned with the security architecture and design and review the security components of the system.

SECTION II: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  • Defines and maintains target infrastructure architectures and identifies infrastructure architecture requirements, develops recommendations and architectures to address risks.
  • Defines and maintains infrastructure and security architecture reference models, frameworks, standards, processes and guidelines.
  • Promotes IsDB-wide awareness and adherence to the infrastructure and security architecture artefacts, providing training and awareness as required.
  • Reviews infrastructure and security architecture components of projects during the concept, design, implementation and post implementation stages.
  • Understands and adheres with the overarching architecture framework, standards, governance models, blueprints and processes; and provides recommendations to enhance further specifically related to infrastructure and security.
  • Defines and maintains the infrastructure and security architecture in alignment with the enterprise architecture, IT strategy and aligns the business requirements with technical security solutions.
  • Provides infrastructure and security architecture guidance to solution architects, Product leads and Product team members during end-to-end solution design, delivery and operation.
  • Facilitates meetings and workshops with Solution Delivery team members with the business complexes where infrastructure and security architecture expertise is required.
  • Supports Technology Operations to ensure infrastructure and security component architecture is appropriate, including the design of the Network Operations, Infrastructure, Security Operations Centre, PKI solution and user access management.
  • Provides infrastructure and security guidance to Business Technology team during innovation research and development, product trials and proof of concept, and considerations for adoption.
  • Assists in identifying and managing risks and potential threats specifically across the infrastructure and security components within IsDB’s technology environment, and in developing action/mitigation plans.
  • Evaluates new products and technologies against industry security trends and perform security architecture reviews prior to purchase approval.
  • Operates as a security expert across application development, database design and operations, network and platform infrastructure and service management.

SECTION IV: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or related field

Language Skills:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English language.
  • Arabic and French language proficiency is an additional advantage.

Years of Experience:

7+ years of experience in IT architecture, modeling, specifically across infrastructure and security.
