Purpose:

To lead the organization of the Annual Multi Stakeholder Forum to be held each year in a member country to invite the scientific networks and targeted communities to participate in the Call for Innovation to find solutions that help accelerate progress towards the Sustainable Developmental Goals. The Call for Innovations will highlight solutions from diverse sources and communities, originating in different parts of the world, and focus on those technologies that aim to help the poorest and most vulnerable. This is in addition to perform necessary analysis and assessments to introduce improvements to the Multi Stakeholders Forum.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Contributes to the preparation of Division annual budget and ensures that no major / important activity is omitted.
  • Prepares strategy and plans for the Annual Multi Stakeholder Forum and the annual development themes.
  • Take the lead in conducting the Annual Multi Stakeholder Meeting in terms of flow and sequencing, as well as putting together the Annual Meeting themes in a meaningful synthesis. 
  • Promotes the “Call for Innovation” initiative of IsDB within the national, regional and international targeted communities using the most appropriate communication and promotion channels.
  • Manages the “Call for Innovations” initiative by developing concept notes and laying down robust nomination criteria, nomination evaluation process and selecting the most deserving contributor(s).
  • Coaches and mentors the winners of the Call for Innovation Nominees for the finale and the final event.
  • Facilitates the linkage between innovators and potential funders to access funding opportunities and locate complementary resources to support innovation and establish STI network of experts, investors, academics, NGOs, and other relevant institutions.
  • Create visibility for the Fund through communication, outreach and build positive perception among relevant external STI stakeholders through generation and dissemination of material.
  • Identifies suitable platforms to innovators where other innovators are working, whether in the same or related fields or as competitors or potential partners.
  • Coordinates the organization of the Annual Forum each year in a member country to call the scientific networks and targeted communities.
  • Conduct multi-stakeholder analysis of Engage Platform and suggests system improvements and content development to showcase the Call for Innovation and Transformers, and enhance the Matchmaking feature of Engage platform to create a network of innovators, investors, scientists and other targeted audiences.
  • Carry out annual assessments of the Multi stakeholders Forum content and arrangements using different tools to suggest improvements to the forum design, outreach, visibility and substance.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communication, International Relations or related fields. Master’s degree would be preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in event management, communication, advocacy and visibility of multi stakeholders and communities including startups, donors/investors, sourcing funders and companies.
  • Minimum 3 years of managerial / supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity of SDGs is an asset
  • Experience with international agencies and NGOs is an asset.
